Adding a password protected text box that only I can input text too

I want to make a text box on my web page that only can be edited by people who have a password to edit it. But I still want people to be allowed to see the information inside that text box. how do I do it ?

The best way to handle this is by using an "active" architecture like .NET or PHP.

The text is entered via an admin control panel that saves it to a database or even a text file. To the "regular" visitors of the site, they would just see the text displayed but not have the ability to do any editing.
