I have this Sony laptop that was given to, its all messed up, can't even install anything, its freaken crappy, I hate it. I want to system restore it, but I was never given the restoring disk, I was wondering, can I use restoring disk from my Hp computer? They're both Windows Xp Home Edition, will work if I try restoring it with my Hp restoring disk? Please tell me! I wanna know!!!!!!!!!!

The restore disk is usually coded for each brand as it will have drivers etc that are unique to each brand and or device. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthre... has a how to .. It depends a lot on what model you have.. http://www.restoredisks.com/request.asp these folks also may be able to help you out with restore disks. What model do you have ???
