I've tried everything and the flash drive still won't work. The response I keep getting is "windows unable to complete format". The drive has a capacity of 16GB and the space available is 16GB which doesn't seem right as it should have some info in it to be able to run..... Any more ideas will be much appreciated.

if you are using windows xp try the formatting from admin panel. go to control panel > administrative tools > Computer management expand the storage section and click on Disk Management. see ur flash drive there is it healthy? and right click and format it...
