Now on all of my websites, when being viewed in internet explorer the flash is screwing up. For some reason, it looks like you have to click to activate the flash, and then you get to actually click the links etc. What is going on there and how do I fix this?

Hi, can you give us an example? A link to one of your websites? I would need more information in order to see if I can answer this. Cheers Peter

Its a problem in Explorer, only explorer and not in Firefox or anything else that I am aware of. I heard microsoft lost a legal battle or something so they had to take some code out of their browser. If you have explorer you can see a site that doesnt have the problem fixed yet at: http://www.bigstockphoto.com/

Unfortunately you seem to be spot on with your comment about the legal battle. See this web page: http://www.betanews.com/article/Microsof... It says there "With the update, ActiveX controls will no longer be activated by default. This means users must first click on the control before it will recognize any input." But Microsoft pubished some tips on this webpage: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/?url=/... It seems if you call the ActiveX component using an object in scripting, you can get around this issue. The Micrsoft page has some code you could try. Cheers Peter

This only happens in explorer for users who have installed SP2. You can find exact instructions on adobe's homepage here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/activeconten... http://www.amarasoftware.com/flash-probl... Enjoy implementing this across all your client sites ;)

But note that all these workarounds won't work if the user hasn't enabled JavaScript!!! Cheers Peter
