I am looking to find a method to be able to track how many emails are opened when I send out an email marketing campaign. Does anyone know how this is accomplished?

There a several web-based applications that can help you with this. All of them use the same trick. You include an images in the e-mail and track how many times it gets downloaded from the server. Advanced applications create individual images and will be able to tell you exactly witch e-mails have been opened. Most of these applications don't come cheap, so if money is an issue you will have to be creative yourself. Currently I'm using Clang for my mailings.
