I sometimes get this error in an asp.net site that I'm developing: System.Web.HttpException: Validation of viewstate MAC failed Do you know what that means and how to correct it? Is it someone trying to hack into the site by manipulation the viewstate?

view state is checked at server side when is post back from client if viewstate MAC checked is enable and it throws error is value of viewstate is tamperered.

I found this loooong thread discussing the problem and possible solutions: http://forums.asp.net/thread/1173230.asp... The weird thing is though, that I'm using asp.net 1.1 and they're talking about the issue happening when asp.net 2 was introduced. Haven't gotten to try the solutions out yet...

i had a similar and I think related problem with viewstate and opera browsers. this was solved here: http://quomon.com/viewquestion.aspx?ques... now remains to see if it solves this issue as well.

son un novato en ASP, este error me paso y era ocacionado porque al pasar datos de una pagina a otra no especifique el name del control solo tenia el id definido cuando le especifique el name se soluciono la falla, me daba el mismo error
