COM+ Event System problem causing IIS not to work?

Suddenly all the ASP.NET websites I test locally on my machine with Internet Information Services don't work anymore. A blank page is shown and when I look at IIS, the web service is stopped and when trying to start it, i get an "unspecified error xxxxx".
I had a look at the events viewer and can see that an error ocurred:
"The COM+ Event System detected a bad return code during its internal processing. HRESULT was C0000005 from line 44 of d:\qxp_slp\com\com1x\src\events\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp."
How do I solve this?
I'm running Windows XP professional.

I've tried this and it seemed to do the trick in my case:

I ran
"%systemroot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\aspnet_regiis.exe /i"
in the command prompt, which reinstalls asp.net 1.1

well, I got happy too quick... the fix didn't work.
The problem is still there (it doesn't happen immediately after turning on the computer).
Better get on with the other proposed solutions on that page or does anyone here have an idea about what to do?

Well, I got rid of the event alert disabling MSN Messenger 7.5's automatic startup.
But, it didn't solve the problem either.
So I checked for more event problems and sure enough in the System tab of the event viewer I saw this problem:
W3SVC - the service could not bind to intance 1.
I found this blog that explained the problem: http://mcosier.blogspot.com/2005/05/serv...
Basically it's skype "taking over" the port 80, which makes IIS unable to listen to that port for web applications.
There's a setting in Skype that you can disable, which disallows it to use port 80.
