Can music playlists from a website be broadcast to be played in automobiles and house radios?

I am looking to see what the technology is that is either being used or will be used to allow people in their cars or through their radios at home to be able to play music playlists coming from the internet.

Does this technology exist that does this and if so how is it accomplished if I wanted to set something up? How does one go about getting a "station" on the web? How do the users identify those "stations" on their radios?

Not sure what u mean. Do u want to create your own playlists? I guess u can use tools like this one http://www.bp2x.com/index.php?option=con... that may help you towards your goal.
This software is supposed to automate your daily music programming, radio station management and commercial scheduling. Now I aint tried it so I cant verify how good it is. It is labelled as freeware in fileforum so u could evaluate it.

Can playlists over the web be located and played in car radios, home radios, etc? What technologies would be used to accomplish this?

Im not aware of anything user defined playlists being played on normal radio's. Radio can only pick up those radio waves sent by radio stations.
Internet radio is for listening via the internet only. U use software to listen to streaming audio.

I may be mistaken but I have yet to see normal radio's play internet stuff.

The last new thing was DAB - digital audio broadcasting. But Ive not seen it using internet stuff though.

That is what I am looking to find out, if you hear of anything let me know. If not, I'll wait for someone else who may have heard.

Anyone else know of anything?

With advent of wireless technology, there may be a product out there that enables radio's to pick up satellite signals and play whatever internet site is streaming audio.
No doubt though these will have to be built with some kind of receiver

I would say that technology isnt available yet. It may be being worked on but certainly I have never heard of anything commerical that performs what u want.

Closest I would say is you record streaming audio, burn onto a CD then play in your CD player.
I have a MP3 player for the car. There are now MP3 car stereo's that have slots for memory cards as well.
