How to connect internet and grab data from sites such as yahoo.com using PHP

I want to make a application that conects with the internet and copy the data form their sites to display it
e.g
if user enter the yahoo.com then it connects with yahoo.com and copy the text of title ,meta keyqwords,descriptions tags and display it for users simply

Well I assume your internet connection would already be open

there is something called parse_url which may help u http://uk2.php.net/manual/en/function.pa...
lower level is obviously using sockets http://uk2.php.net/manual/en/function.fs...
