How to prevent "This program is not responding" from appearing and interfering with printing

"This program is not responding" somewhat frequently popups and one i given a choice:End now or cancel. One choses end now and in about 30 seconds one is back at desktop.

But this popup interferes with printing. One cannot print part of a document, e.g. p. 2 and 5-7, for example.

How does one prevent this message from appearing to permit me to print what I need.

I chose 75 because I do not know how difficult this question is.

No matter your windows system is XP, Win7, or Vista, the easiest way to speed up your PC, make it get rid of freezing up is cleaning your computer; you can try the software "tuneup360". My friends and I all use it, it's seems really useful.
