How do you move the positioning of taskbar buttons in Explorer?

If I have 5 programs open, sometimes I want to swap the positioning of the taskbar buttons on the windows taskbar so some programs are displayed before or after other programs and I can keep a consistent order. Is there any way to do this?

Ive never seen a way round this bar closing and reopening windows.
The one trick I found to reverse your list of windows is to go to task manager to kill explorer.exe (all of them that are running). It should restart explorer then task bar items are reversed!

In terms of software you could try xneat or buttonboogie

thanks. I have used taskbar manager and it does the job perfect.

Im unable to use xneat at the moment because I am behind a firewall. It seems when u use xneat, it connects to the net to register or something. I dont believe apps should do that automatically. Because it dont connect, the program refuses to run.

Unless u think xneat is okay, I am giving it so far 2 out of 5. I will try it when I get home.
