I'm hearing impaired, I'd like to use my computer for a phone. I can't change providers ph or net

Dear Gentlepersons,

I can find a dozen places on the net that ask how to use the computer as a phone, but they never give a straight answer.I'm hearing impaired, and having been young once, I remember how aggrivating it was always having to repeat myself. I had to sign a commitment to get the internet so I can't change phone or internet providers.If it's going to require software, is it available on the net? You have my heartfelt thanks and if I had a zillion points, you'd get everyone of them. GIG. Robert

I use Skype for my PC to PC calling/chat etc. They have a list of phones for the hearing impaired. Dont know if this will help you towards your way

Why dont you google hearing impaired phones or something then find one that do those headets - these will be compatable with PCs.

Regarding software, I think any software, like Skype, that supports PC to PC/landline calling would suffice.

Many thanks nidhi;
I've got a message in to skype and am awaiting their reply. I appreciate your timely advice and suggestion.I've tried headsets and they're not much help. I can adjust the speaker volume on my comp perfectly which is why I want to use them. I have a lot of friends who don't have a computer which is why I want to be able to call a phone. Can you believe it. There are some people who are actualy able to live wih out a computer. Incredible. Thanks again. Bob

lol, yea, some people still dont use PC, thats for sure. I definitely would be lost without out.
Skype allows you to call landlines at a small cost, I have a friend abroad to calls me on either PC (if Im online) or landline using Skype and Ive never had a problem with quality.

Before you buy credit though you should test out PC to PC calling.
