The usual cause for this is something interferring with your internet connection, you'll most likely have this issue no matter what browser you use so lets try and diagnose your internet connection.
first thing to try is to ping something by ip address.
click on the start menu and select run.
in the box type in "CMD" without the quotes and press enter.
in the black window (the command prompt window) type in:
ping 4.2.2.2
you should see something like:
"Reply from 4.2.2.2: bytes=32 time=19ms TTL=55"
your reply times should be less than 150ms, unless you're using dial up, then they should be less than 300ms. If you receive anything other than a reply, something's screwed up or you have firewall issues. (If you have zone alarm, as great of a program it is... you probably should uninstall it).
if your times are too big, call your isp.
now.. lets say you do get replies, now lets do a dns test.
type in the command window:
nslookup yahoo.com
you should get a "Non-authoritave answer" with an ip address. if you don't, change your DNS servers (open up Network Connections from your control panel, right click on your local area connection and select properties. now highlight the thing that says TCP/IP and again click properties. Manually type in 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 in your DNS servers (Call your isp for better servers to use, but these at least will never fail)
if this doesn't fix your issue (which wouldn't surprise me) then type in your command window:
tracert yahoo.com
and post the response, there's still a lot of things we can check for.
How is your setup:
High Speed (DSL or cable)
Do you have a router (what brand)?
wireless? (good signal strength, encryption) (yes/no)
Other possible causes for your problem:
viruses, firewalls, MTU set incorrectly on a router (should be 1500 for cable and 1492 for DSL), in special circumstances linksys routers don't forward DNS requests when attached to an Actiontec router/modem, poor signal strength from wireless connections.

one final note*
I STRONGLY recommend against removing IE from XP or later-based systems. That said, the only clean way to remove IE is to open the add/remove programs list (start->run->appwiz.cpl) and click on add/remove windows components, uncheck the box next to internet explorer and click next.
other methods of removal can really screw you up. If you want my opinion on a browser, my two favorites are Opera and IE7.

I did all what you suggested...
Let me explain further that I've tried this on different networks, as my labtop is wireless, and I still have the same problem. That's the reason I believe is an IExplorer bug.

I do usually use my router as I have DSL.... only wireless when I go somewhere.

My DSL router is WESTELL.

I am almost convinced in my IExplorer. Why is it that when I installed IExplorer 7 and try to run it, it gives me a blank page.... then I do remove it, and things go back to IExplorer 6.

That's why I am thinking that if I remove IExplorer 6.... I will be able then to install Firefox or IExplorer 7.0 that will work.

But I cannot remove IExplorer 6, because it's not in the Remove list.... I said that before in the original question.

I appreciate your help here anyhow..... if you can let me know an easy way to remove IExplorer 6.0 so that I can install IE ver. 7 or Firefox.... that will be a way to fix the problem... I believe.

The other way for me is to install Windows XP from scratch (but with no IExplorer) and then install IExplorer.... but I hate to do that because in order to do that I have to save all my data and then I have to re-install a bunch of applications....

After I went to the Network Connection and under TCP/IP went to Properties, then I added the DNS Server 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 as you suggested....

Well, perhpas that might have fixed the problem... don't know yet. But the question is then WHY?

I have to work more with the browser to make certain it fixed the problem.... but it seems that it works better now. I will try to see if Firefox works now.....

you might be experiencing what I call a DNS relay failure where your router fails to properyly forward DNS requests from your modem. this causes DNS requests to timeout for certain domains. Anyway, the permanent fix for this is to statically set the DNS servers in your router (do not obtain them automatically). then the router assigns these DNS servers to all DHCP clients automatically and you don't have to manually specify the servers for each machine.
Keep in mind that 4.2.2.X are national servers and that makes them relatively slow, these might be faster (they're qwest DNS servers) but you should call or google your ISP for your correct DNS servers to make your speed nice and zippy.
