Insert image in body of email, how?

I have a gmail account and I use MAC OS 10.4.1. I want to be able to put an image in the body of the email. Not an attachment.

I use gmail also and have not found a way. What is more annoying is when I receive emails with embedded images, forwarding that email does not include the image.

This is probably due to the fact that gmail does not support html formatting, just rich text formatting.

I found this just now, I will give it a go but it does look a bit long winded though
