Multiple icons highlighting, caps lock, num lock, browser windows open in new windows

I downloaded a game the other day and, stupid me, didn't scan it for a virus first. After downloading, I locked my PC as I always do and went away for a bit. When I came back, I couldn't type my password to get back in. It would accept the alpha characters but it wouldn't accept the numbers from my keypad. So I shutdown and rebooted, came back up and logged in normally. After logging in, I went to play the game and found that Windows Explorer was opening multiple windows. Then I noticed that it was doing this because I was selecting every folder up to the one that I was trying to get into!
So I exited all windows and started noticing that it was doing the same on my desktop. Loaded up Firefox and went to check my email and noticed that any bookmarks or web links were automatically opening in new windows. VERY annoying as I prefer to use tabbed browsing. Also, when I tried to get into my email, I saw that I was only able to type the Shift characters (i.e.-#$%^&) instead of their respective numbers, rendering me unable to sign into my email. And my scroll wheel doesn't scroll on webpages, it now controls Back and Forward browsing functions.
I ran SpyBot: S&D and AVG Free, the latter nabbing 4 virii from the folder the game had installed to. Spybot nabbed a single trojan from elsewhere on my computer. These were all removed and I promptly uninstalled the game but my computer is still acting this way. I've reverted all my mouse and keyboard settings to defaults, made sure that StickyKeys isn't on or any other features that could cause my keys to behave differently than normal. I also looked at every process in my Task Manager to see if there were any that seemed unusual and googled them if I saw one, all of them came back normal. I'm at the end of my rope and I don't want to have to reformat my hard disk if necessary as a reinstall from start to finish, including my normally installed software, takes at least 6 hours. I am running Windows Vista and have had no trouble up until this point.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
