New hardware found "NET", I'm not sure what it's looking for??

Windows XP
SP 2

Each time I boot the machine I get the New hardware wizard asking to install "Net" but I don't know what it's looking for so I'm not sure what drivers to feed it. If someone could let me know what this vague reference is I would very much appreciate it.

I have exactly the same problem! It only started fairly recently. I'm not sure what it is. I think it is either something to do with the fact that I updated my motherboard drivers, or to do with a Virtual PC net adaptor that I deleted, or Virtual box adaptor that i deleted.

Do you use any virtual s/ware?

Or it may be to with MS Net Framework. I have downloaded a lot of stuff and made a lot of changes, so it is difficult to know.
