i just got a new mother board installed and i dont know if the mother board is the problem but the USB ports just downright dont work. Ive tried plugging everything into them and they still refuse to even realize that something is there. how do i configure my USB ports for a new computer/motherboard?

A guess would be a new motherboard means new drivers required to be installed. Drivers can be based on hardware and software so make sure you have the latest drivers installed. I suggest you visit the mobo's manufacturer's website and see what they have in their support section. Maybe you could run a system file check to make sure your files are okay. Run this sfc /scannow but I think your i386 or windows cd need to be the one used to install windows in the first place.
