What's the best way to create a PDF document and in what program?

I am looking to create a PDF. Up to this point, I have been creating it in Illustrator and then moving it into Photoshop to add the images and saving it as a PDF from there. But, the file size seems much too large. Doesn anyone know the best process to do this and what a typical page size should be?

Why dont u just try installing a pdf print driver like pdf995, expertPDF or something like that just to compare with however u are saving it (I assume u are using adobe acrobat)

How large are these images, are they high res? bitmaps? that could explain a few things

Have u tried resizing images, or compressing jpgs further to see if u get any joy

Actually, I found that the best way is to do it the other way around from what I was doing. I started to just save the images in photoshop as a TIF file and then imported them into Illustrator and saved the PDF from there. That way the file size was 1.5 Megabytes instead of 10 megabytes.

This is all for printing purposes, designing brochures.

John,
I use CutePDF to do this. I design my document in Word or Publisher and then you print to the CutePDF printer driver.

Hope that helps
