When I log into MSN and open email it says "problem signing in to check email" but messeger works.

Msn opens, messenger logs in (at first it wouldn't work either so I uninstalled and re-installed.. now that works) and messenger alerts me that I have 11 new emails. I open my email and I get an error message at the top of the mailbox that says " ! problem signing in to check email". I am able to access my email via hotmail.com though.

Note: I recently did a complete system restore, so I'm basically starting everything from new. Is there some setting on my computer that I need to fix?
