When hyperlinking, how can I change the "Look In" area to something else?

I do a lot of hyperlinking in both Word and Excel and need to know how to change the "Look In:" information to be something other than "Desktop." My IT Department has not been able to find out a fix for this. For instance, I might want to go to an area such as: drive name:/file name/sub-file name/

I want the "Look In" area to take me directly to this sub-file each time so I don't have to keep clicking through the other areas to get to this place each time I want to hyperlink a document in an index.

I've tried putting this info in the "Hyperlink Base:" but it still doesn't change the "Look In:" from Desktop to the correct sub-file area.

This is more of a per document solution, so it will work for you if you have 1 document with many hyperlinks.

oops, I guess I should read your entire post before posting anything.
another option is to change the default working folder:

Ok, so neither one of those solutions will solve your issue. The reason is because the "look in" feature is a property of Windows.
there are 2 real possibilites that would work for you.
1. create a shortcut to the default location and place it on your desktop, this will let you double click on it inside the window instead of going to the "look in" dropdown.
2. There might be a way to force the change using a tweaker such as TweakUI (from microsoft)
