theDude

how to create and consume a web service in asp.net?

I need to create a webservice and use it from a web application, both in ASP.NET 1.1 with C#. The two will be hosted on different servers.
I would like some help going about this, preferably examples, and possible issues that I should keep in mind regarding security.
One thing that comes into mind is that it will be hosted on shared hosts with Medium Trust security. Is that a problem?

Dude...

I think I can help you with this...it's not the hardest thing in the world, but with the security concerns, there can be some issues.

If you want to contact me offline about this, please do...my contact info is at www.castagna.net

Thanks for your input.
Ric, I'd rather get the info here "public" than in private, I mean it's not something that I'd pay for (yet).
Thanks for the link Sarbjit, that's quite useful, although I was looking for a small example here to get me started.

Ok, Sarbjit.
I found more info on that site you posted on this particular page: http://www.kirupa.com/net/webService.htm
It's ok, but very visual studio oriented.
