how to develop an Iphone application?

I've been looking at the documentation for Iphone developers (http://developer.apple.com/iphone/progra...) and it looks like you can only develop Iphone applications on a Mac computer. Is that correct? No SDK for windows or linux?
Also I can't really see which programming language the development is in. Do you have any idea of that?

Being apple products, one would expect them to develop on macs only. The SDK probably has its own libraries etc that work only on apple o/s. Being a different o/s to windows, one would expect it will not be compatable.

You may find more info on mac forums. There was talk here about it http://www.modmyi.com/forums/iphone-ipod....

Regarding the language, it is Objective C. I dont think this is available in Windows hence SDK being available on Macs only. http://blogs.zdnet.com/Burnette/?p=544

Thanks, Nidhi.
I would image that they would want all developers to make apps for the Iphone, so creating a windows SDK is not such a bad idea, I think.
I don't know Objective C, do you know if it's similar to C or C++?

If they ported their sdk to windows, if at all possible, then they might find their mac sales slowing down. Plus there is no benefit for them in terms of making money.

I am now also curious, pity I dont have a mac. But from what I see, it looks pretty straight forward.
