how to trigger ajax with a small time gap. actually i want to display the latest record from db.

i want to display the new records inserted without teh page being refreshed. i am thinking to trigger a ajax call after a small time gap, that will help me to show the latest records without using meta-tag etc.

There are 2 ways for setting time interval for Ajax call using below JavaScript function

1) self.setInterval('showRmtInstaller()',1000);

2) self.setTimeout('showRmtInstaller()',3000);

Above both function works fine, it have 2 parameters 1) Ajax call function name 2) time interval it is in mili second i.e 1000 = 1 sec
