when i start windows my hard drive does not boot up its saying ntlr missing then shuts down ive tried to lose some files by trying to formatt my hard drive but i don.t know how to do this from starting my laptop because it won,t let me into windows please can you help me try to find the best way to start my hard drive

boot you computer with the windows cd and try to recover your system. If it happens to see a command line, try this: chkdsk drive /p /r where the drive is your drive letter (e.g C )
