my mouse has a problem.. WHENEVER I SELECT AN ICON,AUTOMATICALLY MULTIPLE ICONS R SELECTED > HELP

this problem arises every now and then and creates havoc on the desktop.. HOWEVER THIS PROBLEM DOESN"T COME UP IF I PRESS THE CAPSLOCK KEY AND THEN PRESS THE LEFT MOUSE BUTTON.. also my capslock key works inappropriately sometimes.

you might have a damaged keyboard or you have sticky keys enabled.
open up the control panel and go to accessibility options. (you may need to switch to classic view to see accessibility options)
uncheck all boxes in this window.
if this doesn't fix you, buy a new keyboard.

it sounds like a shift key is sticking on your keyboard, maybe someone spilled something sticky like soda on it, pressing the caps lock key releases the left shift button and allows you to continue normally.
another thing you can try is to send your keyboard through the dishwasher. (just make sure you turn off automatic drying so you don't melt it)
if you have an older (wired) keyboard, you can actually wrap up the cord, put it in the dishwasher keyside down and send it through a wash. let it dry for about 1 hour (keyside down) and viola, you're good to go.
this version of sticky keys is different from the sticky keys setting found in the control panel.
